Ivanhoe Wines

The genuine, warm Ivanhoe hospitality is evident from the moment you enter the cellar door; this is what keeps people coming back to this enchanted vineyard. When you visit Ivanhoe Wines, you will not only get a wine tasting; you get a complete wine experience. Visitors are invited to come and learn about the Ivanhoe Estate and the winemaking process as Stephen and Tracy Drayton, the owners and operators of the winery, love sharing their passion. If you are in the area for a wine tour make sure to include Ivanhoe as part of your Hunter Valley wine cellar door experience.

The Cellar Door
When it comes to wine cellar doors, Ivanhoe estate’s award-winning cellar door will not disappoint. The estate is a modern-day replica of the Ivanhoe Homestead built in the 1800s. Visitors are welcome to come and sample the Ivanhoe wines while relaxing on the verandah, overlooking one of the most beautiful sights of the Hunter as the sun sets over the Brokenback Range.

The Wines
Boasting a wide range of varieties and continued production of new releases, Ivanhoe has a wine for every knight. The vineyards are planted with Shiraz and Semillon, which the Hunter is famous for, as well as other exquisite varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Verdelho, Chambourcin and Gewurtztraminer.
As most of the Ivanhoe vines are over fifty years old, they are low yielding, but their fruit reveals rich colours, good tannins and intense flavours which are distinctive to the Hunter region. The Ivanhoe Estate invites you to come to their cellar door in the Hunter Valley and sample their wines and experience the exceptional quality for yourself.
