Milawa Cheese Company

Milawa Cheese Company began in 1988 inspired by an unforgettable cheese moment in northern Italy.
On a menu turistico, founders David and Annie Brown met a creamy, soft blue cheese that blew them away. But when they tried to find something similar back home in Australia nothing came close.
There was only one thing to do: buy an old butter factory in country Victoria and learn to make it themselves!
And so Milawa Cheese Company was born.
With high hopes and a dash of Aussie innovation, David and his old school mate Richard Thomas set out on a pioneering path to make the kind of cheeses they loved to eat but couldn’t find.
