Reuben Daniel Furniture

Based in the Blue Mountains in NSW, Reuben designs and makes beautiful and practical furniture and joinery that will stand the test of time. He believes in the value of handcrafted, unique design and the sustainable use of timber.
As a designer Reuben is drawn to simplicity, refining details to find a harmony between the timber and its intended use. He is always in search for the balance between the creative impulse and practicality.

As a maker Reuben has a romantic view of crafts and craftsmanship, taking a stand against the mass-produced and throwaway that is so prevalent in our times. He takes great care and pride in employing the use of traditional joinery, solid timber construction blended artfully with contemporary techniques. “Make with care to create something of lasting quality”.

Reuben came from a carpentry background but in a quest to hone his skills and further his understanding of design he found himself at Sturt School For Wood where he completed his Certificate IV in Furniture Design and Technology under the guidance of some of Australia’s finest designer-makers. Upon graduation, he was Awarded Studio Woodworkers Australia’s ‘Emerging Professional Award’ and selected by Craft ACT to exhibit in the ‘Emerging Contemporaries Exhibition’ in Canberra.
