Wise Eagle Bay

Wise winery was established in 1992, when Biochemist Dr Ron Wise and his wife Sandra bought the then Geographe Bay Estate (founded in 1983) and combined it with their nearby Eagle Bay Estate property.
Shortly after purchasing the property, Ron and Sandra engaged the services of two very close friends, Warren Randall (aka ‘The King of Australian wine’) and Dorham Mann. Warren Randall issued advise on viticulture for the property, where he described the “Mazzas” block of Shiraz as the Club Med for grapes. On that advice the remaining vines were pulled out and Wise Wine began sourcing grapes from premium growers around the state. Dorham Mann (who had previously studied together with Ron), then began the task of making wines in the style of his father, WA wine industry pioneer Jack Mann – essentially lightly wooded with ripe flavours.
From the year 2000 onwards winemakers Bruce Dukes and Amanda Kramer put the winery on the map with high quality Chardonnay and numerous international awards.
Now under the skilful direction of Larry Cherubino, Wise Wine produces superb wines of quality and consistency. Specialising in distinctive wines including a wide range of alternative varietals, often small batch available from the tasting room.
The Wise property is home to one of Margaret River’s most renowned restaurants, the only one to overlook both the vines and the ocean. In a truly iconic setting, surrounded by vineyard and the pristine natural bushland of Meelup Regional Park looking out to the sublime blue waters of Geographe Bay, we invite you to share our tranquil surrounds.
