MAKING CUSTOM WOOD FURNITURE WITH MEANING
The struggle is over. You can stop wasting precious time checking local furniture stores and scrolling the internet to find the perfect piece. Trying to match something to a specific space in the right colour, design and timber is no easy feat. But it’s a challenge I love to overcome. My passion is creating custom wood furniture that tells a story or becomes place makers for new ones. I use sustainably sourced and reclaimed materials to fashion tailor-made furniture driven by a customer’s vision. The goal is to ensure you get exactly what you’re after, so you value it forever.
I HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED MAKING THINGS WITH MY HANDS – WHETHER THAT BE RENOVATING HOMES, CREATING CUSTOM FURNITURE OR TURNING BOWLS AND VASES USING MY WOOD LATHE.
I inherited my love of wood crafting (and custom furniture) from my Swiss grandfather. I fondly recall days spent as a child watching him carve animals from pieces of wood that he found around Wellington. I also helped him to make the most beautiful cuckoo clocks, one of which still hangs on the wall of my parents’ home today.
My passion for working with my hands made me an A-grade student in workshop tech and graphics and design at school (just don’t ask me about physics or maths!). My talent didn’t go unnoticed, and a teacher told my family I’d run my own business one day. I had other ideas. For a little while, at least. I tried corporate sales, but never really felt fulfilled. I would spend my weekend in the workshop we built on our property, making furniture for friends and family. So, when the opportunity rose for me to run my own business, doing what I love, I jumped at the chance. That teacher was right – I’ve never looked back!
NOW I’D LOVE TO TURN YOUR VISION INTO A SUCCESSFUL PROJECT.
I don’t offer a standard range of furniture, aside from some signature pieces, which means that each piece of furniture I make is specifically tailored and hand-crafted to your needs.
Assisting you in this process, we discuss each piece in detail and help you with design and timber selection, before commencing a build.
The material I use is sustainably sourced or reclaimed which means my pieces are ethically produced, hand-crafted, and one of a kind. But don’t let that scare you either. People are often surprised by how competitive my prices are.
And for what it’s worth, for every product I make I donate 5 trees to One Tree Planted.
My clients include the Royal Hotel in Corowa, Speirs Ryan law firm in Sydney, Alpine Hotel in Bright, Pandanas apartments in Mollymook, Ground Cafe in Wollongong, Enhance physiotherapy Albury, and Brokenwood Wines in Pokolbin.
I’ve also made and donated a timber bench to be displayed as part of a memorial at the Wodonga Army Barracks.
