Aileen Greig

When I first left school, I wanted to train as an apprentice jeweller. When I was told ‘women don’t get apprenticed as jewellers, I went to Art College instead and studied Gold and Silversmithing. This was the start of my long love affair with metal, stones and enamel.

Working from my studio on Queensland’s Sunshine coast, with the sound of waves in the background, I produce collections of jewellery from conception to completion.

My inspiration comes from many places, it can be from walking on the beach or from a single word spoken to me. The idea then grows into a collection which continues until it is exhausted and I move on to another idea.
