Anglewood

Steve Lucas, owner of Anglewood, has been designing and producing bespoke timber furniture in South East Queensland for nearly 40 years. Working with many notable and respected architects and interior designers to create one of pieces through to full projects of furniture.

Anglewood was originally established in 1976 as a Pre-School play equipment manufacturer holding contracts with education departments to produce solid timber block utility boxes for use throughout South East Queensland. Many families would have gone through the Queensland Early Childhood schooling system and been exposed to Anglewood’s fine craftsmanship from an early age.

Through the 1980’s and 90’s, Steve Lucas turned his self taught craft towards fine custom solid timber furniture. Commissioned for work by many professionals including Architects and Interior Designers creating one off pieces not found on the showroom floor. In many cases Anglewood has been commissioned to produce an entire projects built in and stand alone cabinetry from high-end kitchens, wardrobes, vanity units and libraries through to dining tables, credenzas, desks and media units, creating completely custom designs and layouts to suit.

A number of South East Queensland’s top Architects have commissioned Anglewood to not only work on custom projects for clients but on a number of occasions entrusted Anglewood with work on their own personal homes. Steve Lucas and the Anglewood team are the bespoke furniture makers architects turn to and trust to produce the quality they as professionals demand.

Over the years Steve and the team have been involved in a number of notable projects including creating custom furniture for the late Sir Leslie Thiess and in more recent times, solid timber furniture for Tim and Gina Fairfax.
Whether you are looking for a one of piece of bespoke furniture as a statement in your design or a full project solution from vanities through to wardrobes, Anglewood can provide you with the knowledge and expertise.
