Matter was founded by Harrison Tucker and Ben Nicholson in 2018. With their complementary skills, principles and intrinsic love of quality, Harry and Ben soon realised they were cut from the same cloth. Enter Matter. A business that was made to matter from the very beginning.
Harry completed a Bachelor of Design Arts with Honours–Furniture in 2013, then furthered his studies in Japan where he was mentored by master craftsman Izaki Masaharu in Aichi Prefecture for 2 years.
Ben completed a Bachelor of Industrial Design at Newcastle University in 2013, then worked professionally as an Industrial Designer within the furniture industry where he developed a passion for furniture design.
